success failure chalkboardIn 1985 on a visit back to the United Kingdom, Mike as the divisional Managing Director for Australian based corporation, James Hardie Group, met with suppliers and manufacturers who exported to Australia. Many of these companies were well established but lacked clear strategy on how to grow their existing export markets or how to successfully enter new ones. He recognised that UK companies had a great deal of untapped potential and so in 1987 Mike returned to the UK to set up BeStrategic as a Cambridge based consultancy business. Mike’s background as a senior executive with Xerox in the UK, USA and Australia gave him the insight, experience and confidence to launch the consultancy which became profitable within the first eighteen months of its existence. He was joined later that year by Lee Anne who subsequently became his wife and business partner.

Lee Anne, a native Australian has a background in Sales, Business Research and Direct Marketing. The Partnership was formed and together they have steered BeStrategic working for some of the UK’s blue chip companies as well as government organisations and charities.

In the past twenty five years of operation, BeStrategic has successfully worked for well over five hundred organisations in the role of consultant helping them understand their current markets, manage change and explore new markets. The company has educated, mentored and counselled hundreds of senior executives and directors. They have analysed hundreds of market sectors for their clients.

Arising from their level of experience they have developed a robust, assertive and forthright approach to delivering their message to their clients; the message is often not what the client wants to hear but what they should hear. Their clients gravitate to the company because they need a jolt to help them recognise that they need to change and change quickly to grow. Companies that ignore this inevitably take too long and risk failure.
